I have a story.
So my sister got run over by a car once. It was a pretty big deal. Well like a year later she got into a little fender bender and was really bent out of shape about it, so I went and got her a cake.
When I put in my order for the cake, the guy at the bakery asked, “Do you want it to say anything?”
And with a perfectly straight face, I said, “‘Sorry you got hit by a car again.’”
He narrowed his eyes a moment, then nodded and wrote it down, and took it to kitchen to get the writing done.
All the way from the back of the kitchen, I hear a woman shout, “‘Again’?!”
How History Books Will Remember The Government Shut Down: A Masterpost

I actually really really love things like this - documenting the documenting of recent history. Like somewhere I have this screenshot of Obama announcing the capture and death of bin Laden and the top comment is about the Play Station network being down. Like because of our weird interaction with history through the creation of this kind of documentation, we actually record all kinds of connections and things that would be otherwise lost.
And technology makes it so easy for decentralized voices to become part of the recording and collecting of that history.
It’s all very cool.
White people destroyed 3/4s of the world for spices and have the nerve not to season their food.
